Access to Veterinary Care:
A National Family Crisis
3:30pm – 5:00pm • Focus Day – September 15, 2021
Pets have become an integral part of our families, however, more than one in four pet owners report they cannot afford veterinary care. This national family crisis results in prolonged recoveries from illness or injuries or premature deaths of pets – breaking up the family. While it may seem logical that they should not own a pet, denying companionship with pets is difficult to defend. AlignCare is an interprofessional collaborative network to improve access to veterinary care for underserved families by better resource alignment.
