This session will give a prosecutor’s perspective on building a solid case from beginning to end, from investigation through trial. We will discuss the importance of a thorough investigation and will explain charging and filing decisions. We will go through the process ultimately leading to trial or in some cases to a disposition in the the case through plea negotiations.

Amanda Byrne
Amanda Byrne graduated from the Texas Tech Unversity School of Law where she was president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. She began her career as a deputy district attorney for the 4th Judicial District and prosecuted various misdemeanor crimes including animal cruelty cases.
