Understanding Pet Supply and Adopter Demand Through the Lens of Online Pet Searches
1:45pm – 3:15pm • Day 3 – September 17, 2021
Adopt-a-Pet.com is North America’s largest non-profit pet adoption website and that means we have millions of potential adopters visiting our website every month. The pandemic changed the face of animal welfare in 2020 and we’ve been collecting data on the trends of our users all throughout the pandemic. In this session, we will get into all of the data that we have been collecting since early 2020 and will share specific insights into the supply of available pets and the demand of adopters. We will share specific insights into the supply and demand for cats versus dogs, how the data differentiates between states, and what we know about adopters searching for dogs by breed. We will share the insights we have into self-supported rehoming by providing insights into the users of Rehome by Adopt-a-pet.com.
