The Department of Biology at Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, CO, seeks a full-time Assistant Coordinator in the Professional Science Master Program in Zoo and Shelter Management. This position leads and guides PSM students through navigating their graduate degree and professional path after graduation.

Key responsibilities for this position are: 1) teaching courses (NSCI 687A, 687B, 693); 2) providing programmatic support (e.g., ordering supplies, assisting students with professional memberships and experiential learning opportunities, organizing field trips and guest speakers, maintaining web content); 3)recruiting students (e.g., communicating with prospective students, evaluating applications, onboarding); and 4) supporting students with course registration, paperwork, and scheduling meetings.

Below is a summary of education and experience that we seek for this position:

Required: ·

Must hold a Professional Science Master’s degree (PSM) or Master’s of Science degree (MS) or equivalent in a relevant field.
Experience in animal sheltering, zoos, aquariums, or wildlife rehabilitation
Preferred:

Experience in university instruction (labs or courses)
A minimum of 6 months experience with animal sheltering, zoos, aquariums, or wildlife rehabilitation
Strong communication skills
Strong organizational skills
PSM degree in Zoo, Aquarium and Animal Shelter Management
Leadership and mentoring skills
Professional networking skills
Experience in writing content for web and social media
Administrative experience
Demonstrated commitment to DEI ( Diversity, Equity and Inclusion)
