Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Emergency Preparedness and Response Program Manager provides program management for Larimer Humane Society’s site-level people safety and emergency preparedness and response initiatives. The position also manages the Organization’s program and role as a partner in Larimer County Colorado’s Emergency Preparedness and Response program during disasters such as floods and wildfires. This involves program management for Larimer Humane Society’s DART/CART initiative: a collaborative framework for emergency preparedness, response, evacuation and recovery efforts with regard to the protection and care of domestic pets and service animals in the county. Requirements include a BA/BS degree or an equivalent combination of education and applicable work experience and a minimum of one year practical experience in emergency management and/or safety. Additional requirements include training and public speaking experience, compliant documentation preservation experience, and volunteer or staff supervisory experience and excellent customer service skills. Supervisory and emotional intelligence, work ethic and integrity skills required. Knowledge of Incident Command System preferred. Animal welfare experience is a plus as is bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking, reading and writing. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required, and be available on short notice during emergency situations. Expected hiring range is $47,000 to $53,000. Closes May 30, 2021 or when filled.
