Riverdale Animal Shelter (RAS) is open admissions, community-centric, county animal shelter, providing safe housing and compassionate care for more than 8,000 animals each year. Our newly constructed 43,000 sq. foot facility opened in late 2020. RAS follows Socially Conscious Sheltering/PACT principles to support vulnerable animals and requires all staff to be trained in fear free techniques to reduce stress for shelter animals.
