Full- time (40 hours), non-exempt, hourly. Expected hiring range is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour commensurate with desired professional certifications, education and applicable experience. Closes February 23rd, 2025, or when filled.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support Behavior Coordinators and volunteers.
- Develop and implement behavior protocols, training programs, and enrichment activities.
- Conduct daily behavior assessments and recommend outcomes (e.g., adoption, foster, transfer, or behavioral plans).
- Train staff and volunteers in safe animal handling and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Lead shelter behavior rounds and oversee enrichment plans like playgroups and socialization activities.
- Serve as an internal and external resource on animal behavior and training.
What We’re Looking For
- Education/Experience: Associate’s Degree in animal behavior, veterinary fields, or equivalent experience. Minimum 1 year of hands-on animal training or behavior assessment. Minimum 1 year direct staff supervisory or 2 year volunteer supervisory experience (including hiring, scheduling, training, managing performance and evaluation).
- Certifications: Animal Behavior Association certification (CTC, CPDT-KA, KPA-CTP, or ACAAB) required.
- Skills: Proven expertise in positive reinforcement training, strong leadership abilities, and excellent communication skills.
- Other: Must be 21+, with a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus (includes wage premium).
