This session will explore a shelter organization’s process to transform the ASV Guidelines for Standards of Care into meaningful action. This session highlights practical strategies for reviewing and implementing the ASV Guidelines, strengthening communication among departments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Through real-world examples, attendees will learn how collaboration, organizational reflection and consistent application of the Guidelines can improve animal wellbeing and overall quality of care leading to positive outcomes while empowering teams.

Dr. Jon Geller

Jennifer Bolser, DVM, cVMA

Dr. Jennifer Bolser obtained her veterinary degree from Colorado State University. Following an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City, she joined The Humane Society of Boulder Valley in Boulder, CO and has enjoyed cumulatively 16 years with this unique and wonderful organization. Jennifer seeks opportunities for new perspectives and has a passion for international veterinary efforts and education. She has performed thousands of surgeries in over 20 locations globally. She, her spouse and canine companions have lived in Beijing, China and Chicago, IL where Jennifer participated in a wide range of veterinary and animal welfare work including shelter medicine, general practice, zoo/exotic animal medicine and organizing spay/neuter clinics in remote areas. She was a medical director for Spayathon For Puerto Rico, a large scale multi-year spay/neuter campaign with a coalition of 27 partners. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Shelter Veterinarians (ASV) and is currently serving as Advocacy Chair for the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association.
