In this lecture, we will delve into identification, documentation, and evidence collection as it pertains to organized dogfighting from a veterinary standpoint. Unveiling its challenging realities, we will explore scientific publications and the impact that these studies have on supporting organized dogfighting cases. With a collaborative approach, we will discuss efforts to combat this  crime. Through case examples, we will examine both the challenges and successes of organized dogfighting identification. Join us as we advocate for the welfare of our four-legged companions and strive for a world free from the cruelty of dogfighting.

Dr. Elizabeth Pearlman

Dr. Pearlman is a forensic veterinarian for the ASPCA’s Veterinary Forensic Science Center in Florida. She has practiced as a private practice emergency veterinarian and as a veterinarian for the Houston SPCA. In 2018, she joined The ASPCA full-time. In her position, she assists law enforcement agencies nationwide with the identification, documentation, and collection of forensic evidence from crime scenes, live alive animals, and deceased animals. Additionally, she authors reports and testifies.
