Humane Colorado is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Executive Assistant to provide strategic and administrative support to our Chief Philanthropy Officer. In this vital role, you will help drive our mission to improve the lives of animals and the people who care for them by managing schedules, coordinating high-level communications, and supporting key fundraising efforts. You will play an essential part in donor engagement, corporate partnerships, and Development team support, ensuring smooth operations that fuel philanthropic impact.

Purpose of Position:  Provide optimal assistance to the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) at Humane Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the CPO including correspondence, scheduling meetings, preparation of meeting materials, follow-up communications, and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in managing the Development Committee of Board of Directors meetings and assist the CPO with agenda formation, transcribing meeting minutes, and pre/post-meeting communications.
  • Support the CPO with preparing and editing correspondence, presentation reports, and memos, spreadsheets, databases, or presentation slides for meetings.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers for consideration and presentation.
  • Help with special projects as required in support of the CPO and the corporate fundraising unit including but not limited to organizing tours and volunteer activities for groups, assisting in workplace giving tasks, and corporate development events.
  • High level of confidentiality with respect to the preparation and maintenance of confidential material and other matters.
  • Coordinate all travel logistics for the CPO and team as needed, including flights, hotels, registrations, and other transportation.
  • Screen and field general partnership inquiries, identifying and escalating conversations as appropriate to Corporate Partnership Manager.
  • In collaboration with facilities, animal care, behavior, Harmony Equine Center teams and corporate partners, respond to corporate group volunteer inquiries and schedule volunteer dates in support of program.
  • Support Corporate Partnership Manager as needed with group volunteering day greeting and logistics.
  • Verify workplace matched gifts through various online portals such as Benevity and Cybergrants.
  • Represent Humane Colorado at off-site tabling events.
  • Provide contract and invoicing support for confirmed Furry Scurry sponsors.

Compensation: Starting at $63,200.00 – $72,000.00 annually (starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motion. May work in an area with high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Occasional lifting with reasonable accommodation.

Required 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Work Experience: Five years of administrative support experience including experience supporting senior level staff/executives and creating correspondence

Desired 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience providing administrative support for non-profit or similar board
