Are you an experienced and compassionate veterinary professional ready to lead a dynamic team? We’re looking for a dedicated Veterinary Services Manager to oversee daily operations in our Animal Shelter Veterinary Clinic and make a difference in the lives of our furry friends in need! (Cats, dogs, rabbits, turtles, chickens, and more!)

Full-time (40 hours), exempt, salary. Expected hiring range is $62k to $67k annually commensurate with applicable experience and education. Relocation assistance is available. Closes February 2nd, 2025, or when filled.

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Services Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead and Support a Team: Manage and develop veterinary technicians, assistants, and volunteers; provide training, performance evaluations, and mentorship.
  • Ensure Top-Notch Care: Oversee physical exams, treatments, surgeries, diagnostics, and more to ensure compliance with shelter protocols and standards of care.
  • Streamline Operations: Create and maintain protocols, manage inventory (including DEA-regulated substances), and ensure accurate medical records.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with veterinarians, shelter staff, and external veterinary partners to provide exceptional care.
  • Support Shelter Medicine: Assist with surgeries, dental procedures, and the care of shelter animals, including exotics and barnyard animals.
  • Handle Emergencies: Participate in on-call services and assist during disaster response situations.
  • Manage Budgets and Reports: Oversee the veterinary services budget and provide statistical reports as needed.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Credentials & Experience:

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) certification in Colorado (required).
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on technician experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience with dental procedures and radiology (required).
  • Experience with exotics or barnyard animals (a plus).

Skills & Traits:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and evaluate staff effectively.
  • Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Passion for animal welfare and the mission of an open-admission shelter.

Flexibility & Commitment:

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency on-call hours.
  • Willingness to work across multiple shelter locations and adapt to diverse situations.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid Colorado driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Rabies vaccination (or willingness to vaccinate) with intermittent titer testing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency (a plus and includes a wage premium).
